Spencer and I have decided that Hunter's new nickname is Kamikaze Man. Let me tell you a little story...my dear sweet Hunter somehow got it into his head this morning that he needed to brush his teeth. Innocent enough, or so it seems. I think I must have been nursing Levi, because I was nowhere near the scene of all of the trouble. But using my Nancy Drew sleuthing skills, I think I have pieced together what happened.
The scene of the accident: the hall bathroom...the culprit: yes, you guess it...Hunter. In his excitement and determination to brush his teeth, Hunter climbed up on the step stool and onto the sink. This was no small feat considering the sink is just a basin with no footholds or anything. He grabbed the toothpaste in one hand and his toothbrush in the other...and then all heck broke loose. I heard the series of thumps and then the blood curdling screams. When I got to the bathroom, there Hunter was, lying on the floor with a mouthful of blood. Still crying. And the crying and sputtering actually sprayed the blood all over him, me, and the bathroom. Pretty gross. Well, wouldn't you know, he still was holding the toothpaste in one hand, and his toothbrush in the other and wouldn't let go of them for anything. After I got him cleaned up, I took inventory of the battle wounds. We'll start at the top and go down...
A. one bump on his forehead exactly over top of his one that he got last week. A bruise on top of a bruise makes an interesting color combination.
B. One scraped up nose.
C. A swollen upper lip.
D. A cut bottom lip.
E. A bruise on the underside of his chin.
And I think that is all for now. He seems to have recovered just fine. I think he was most upset that I wouldn't let him brush his bloody teeth after all of the trouble he went through to get his toothbrush.
